Every year Big Surf is proud to host the only Relay for Life event held in a waterpark in all of America.

Relay for Life is a signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The Relay symbolizes the struggles that someone going through cancer undergoes. Teams of brave (and fit!) walkers walk through the park all night long - they don’t sleep because cancer never sleeps.

This year’s event takes place at Big Surf on June 4 and 5. Gates open to the public at five on Friday afternoon, and the event ends exactly twelve hours later (yes, we do mean five o’clock in the morning!) on Saturday, June 5.

Guests can enjoy the wave pool until midnight, there’s a HUGE silent auction early in the evening, and live entertainment all night long. Each team also has a boothwhere they do various fun fundraising activities such as kids’ games, food sales (a whole range from candy to full meals), raffles, drawings and many other things. This year there’s going to be a “Mr. Relay” contest, which willfeature men in women’s dresses. (Hmm. Could be interesting to watch ‘em all flutter theireyelashes.) It is a HUGE amount of fun for all the family, and (did we mention this?) it’s completely free to get in!
